Worried about how much time your child (or spouse) spends playing? Well, worry no more – a local home builder came up with a productive solution for gamers this summer that could help them find their dream career.
Whether it’s Minecraft, The Sims, Roblox or even Animal Crossing, Redrow Thames Valley is challenging players across the country to digitally recreate one of its houses or developments in order to discover the talented designers of the future.
Players of all ages can compete in three categories, with prizes including children’s art vouchers, an MSI Curved Gaming Monitor, Razer Streamer, and a broadcast package, as well as a chance to secure a job with the Redrow Thames Valley team. So that the grown-ups do not miss out, there is also a category for adults in which they can put their creative abilities to the test.
Digital builders from across Swindon, Wiltshire can apply by visiting the contest page and emailing a picture or video of their design to the appropriate age category by Friday 27 August.
Players can also participate by sharing their designs on social media by tagging @Redrow on Twitter, @Redrowhomes on Instagram, or commenting on the Facebook contest post along with #RecreateRedrow.
Each entry is judged by a jury of experts, including YouTube gaming star Clare Siobhan and Group Customer and Marketing Director Matt Grayson, Group Master Planning Director, Kevin Parker, Group Design and Technical Director, Stuart Norton, and Talent Manager Anna Milne.
Sarah Boyce, Sales Director at Redrow Thames Valley said, “Gaming is a hobby that sometimes gets a bad rap, but we know there are so many talented people with exceptional digital skills and a fantastic eye for detail, two skills are very important when building a house.
“We understand that this talent can and should be nurtured and nurtured, so we encourage players to positively channel that interest and consider a career in the construction industry.
“From architecture to the realization of visions through the masonry trade, there really is a career for everyone at Redrow.”
